I discovered this beautiful piece of Spalted Tamarind while traveling in Idaho. Its striking natural patterns immediately caught my attention, and I knew from the moment I saw it that the wood had the potential to become something special.

I hand-turned the bowl on a wood lathe, carefully developing its profile and proportions to showcase the dramatic lines, color variations, and organic character created by the spalting. The result is a one-of-a-kind bowl whose appearance could only have come from this particular piece of wood.

The finished bowl can serve as a functional piece or as a decorative accent. It is finished with food-safe Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil and Walrus Oil Wood Wax, which protect and condition the wood while enhancing its natural grain and coloration.
