CHIPIN’ WOOD
Terms and Conditions
Terms for using our website, purchasing pieces, and requesting commissions.
Overview
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of chipinwood.com and your purchase of available pieces or commissioned work from Chipin’ Wood. By using this website, placing an order, or approving a commission, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit an order.

Website use and customer accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to place an order or request a commission. Customer accounts are optional. If you create an account, you are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting your login credentials, and notifying Chipin’ Wood of suspected unauthorized use. We may restrict or close accounts used fraudulently, unlawfully, or in violation of these terms.
Handmade products and natural variations
Each Chipin’ Wood piece is handmade from natural materials. Wood grain, color, figure, texture, knots, inclusions, and other characteristics vary from piece to piece and are part of the material’s natural character. Handmade dimensions and details may also vary slightly. Photographs and screen displays may not reproduce colors or proportions exactly. These normal variations are not defects.
Orders, availability, and pricing
Products, prices, descriptions, and availability may change without notice. Placing an order does not guarantee acceptance. Chipin’ Wood may decline or cancel an order because of product availability, pricing or description errors, suspected fraud, payment problems, shipping limitations, or other reasonable business concerns. If an order is canceled after payment has been collected, the amount collected for the canceled order will be refunded.
Payment, taxes, and shipping charges
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars. Payment is processed using the payment methods offered at checkout through WooPayments and its payment-processing partners. You authorize the applicable charges when you submit an order. Applicable sales tax is calculated and displayed at checkout. For available pieces requiring shipping, the actual shipping charge is calculated after secure packaging and sent as a separate invoice or payment request. This charge is additional to the initial checkout payment, and the order ships only after it has been paid. Shipping or delivery arrangements for commissioned work are stated in the written proposal.
Commissioned work
Commission requests are subject to review and acceptance. Project details—including design, materials, approximate dimensions, price, deposit, estimated schedule, delivery or shipping, and payment milestones—will be stated in a written proposal or other written communication. A commission is not accepted until Chipin’ Wood confirms it and any required deposit has been received.
Changes requested after approval may affect the price, materials, or completion schedule and must be accepted by Chipin’ Wood. Because commissioned pieces are made specifically for the customer, deposits and payments become nonrefundable once design approval or production has begun, except when Chipin’ Wood cancels the project or applicable law requires otherwise. Any remaining balance must be paid according to the agreed payment schedule and before shipment or delivery.
Production schedules and delays
Completion and delivery dates for commissioned work are estimates unless Chipin’ Wood agrees otherwise in writing. Handmade production may be affected by material availability, design changes, curing or finishing time, equipment issues, illness, severe weather, carrier delays, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control. We will communicate material delays and provide an updated estimate when practical.
Shipping, delivery, and pickup
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. For available pieces, select Ship to me — cost invoiced separately at checkout for shipping, or Local pickup for pickup. The actual shipping charge will be invoiced separately after secure packaging, is additional to the initial checkout payment, and must be paid before shipment. Local pickup is arranged directly with Chipin’ Wood. Shipping and delivery dates are estimates and may be affected by the carrier or other circumstances outside Chipin’ Wood’s control. Responsibility for the piece transfers to the customer upon confirmed delivery or pickup, subject to the damaged-or-incorrect-item process below.
Final sales, damage, and incorrect items
Available pieces are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange because of a change of mind, personal preference, natural wood variation, or minor handmade variation. Commission deposits and completed custom pieces are also nonrefundable as described above. These terms do not limit any rights that cannot legally be waived.
If an item arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, contact rogene@chipinwood.com within 3 calendar days after delivery. Include the order number, a description of the issue, photographs of the item and packaging, and retain all original packaging while the claim is reviewed. Do not return an item without instructions from Chipin’ Wood. Depending on the circumstances, the available remedy may include repair, replacement, or refund.
Care and use
Customers are responsible for using and caring for each piece appropriately and following any care instructions provided. Wood naturally responds to humidity, temperature, sunlight, moisture, and use over time. Chipin’ Wood is not responsible for damage caused by misuse, improper cleaning or storage, prolonged exposure to water or extreme conditions, impacts, unauthorized repairs or modifications, or failure to follow supplied care instructions.
Intellectual property
The website and its original text, photographs, graphics, logo, product designs, and other content belong to Chipin’ Wood or are used with permission and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view the website and print or save information for personal, noncommercial use. You may not reproduce, sell, publish, modify, or commercially use website content without prior written permission. Purchasing a piece transfers ownership of the physical item, but does not transfer copyrights, design rights, or commercial reproduction rights unless agreed in writing.

The website and its general informational content are provided on an “as available” basis. Chipin’ Wood makes reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and current but does not guarantee that every description, price, image, availability notice, or other item will always be complete or error-free. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing a formal claim, you and Chipin’ Wood agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute directly. Any court proceeding must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in the Florida county where Chipin’ Wood maintains its principal place of business, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions when our website, products, services, or business practices change. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes apply prospectively from the posted date unless applicable law requires otherwise.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with the applicable product description, checkout information, written commission proposal, and Privacy Policy, form the agreement relating to your use of the website and purchase.
