CHIPIN’ WOOD
Golden Ripple
A hand-turned curly white limba bowl with warm golden tones and flowing, rippled grain.

Golden Ripple
White limba is one of my favorite woods to turn because so much of its character reveals itself as the bowl takes shape. Golden Ripple was especially rewarding. The variations in color, the curled grain, and the darker natural markings gave me something new to appreciate throughout the turning process.
Warm golden tones blend with lighter cream-colored areas, while ripples in the grain create a sense of movement across the interior. Dark, winding lines add contrast near the rim. Together, these details give the bowl its name and invite a closer look from different angles.
I shaped Golden Ripple with a graceful curved profile and balanced proportions, giving the wood’s natural figure room to stand out. At approximately 7¾ inches in diameter and 2¾ inches high, it has enough depth for everyday serving while remaining an inviting piece to display on a table, shelf, or entryway console.
